susie gregory » About the Artist

  I grew up loving to draw!! -   Working in watercolor, pastel, mixed media and oil, i have been on this painting journey for more than thirty years.  Dividing my time between the scenic and nostalgic hills of southern Indiana and the ever-changing yet ever-the-same marshland of coastal Georgia, i draw constant inspiration from my surroundings.  I am particularly intrigued by the play of light upon my subject, whether it's a child at play, a snoozing puppy, a sunstruck stand of sycamore trees or the beach at sundown.

  My husband, David and I have three grown children and five young grandchildren who, along with our golden retriever Nellie, offer constant and delightful painting fodder.  An avid golfer, I have painted golf scenes from Ireland and Scotland to Pebble Beach and the Sea Island Golf Course on St. Simons Island, Georgia, our home away from home.

  My works have graced the walls of the Indiana State Museum and Govenor's Mansion and hang in corporate and private collections in fifteen states, Canada and Australia.

  On February 8th of 2009 i began a daily painting diary.  I endeavor to create one small original work each day and post it to my blog.   Please visit susiegregory.blogspot.com.
